Company and Calamity

Hyrax stops and stares. Slowly, a bit of drool falls from his closed mouth and sizzles on the floor as Hyrax's breathing becomes noticeably forced and heavy as he sways a bit.

Kyuubi blinks and backs up a little. "Now!" Tide shouted, Desire launched the spikey vines at Hyrax's tail, they continued to slide past, the vines encased Hyrax's tail, the vines were just long enough to do so, but before they stopped Desire yanked on the ends in an attempt to make him fall. Shade thrust his arms outward and sent a beam out at Hyrax. Daybreak looked up at Hyrax, he looked confused, he studied Hyrax curiously "he...he's planing something..." he whispered to himself "what are you doing?..."

Hyrax tanks the hit and does not fall due to his claws gripping the ground with immense force. Slowly, a soft "whirring" noise comes from Hyrax. The vines binding his tail twitch but hold tight. Hyrax's tail is spinning like a drill, effectively turning his tail into a giant buzz-saw, hacking away at the vines. His blank expression slowly turns to a glare as more drool begins to drip, albeit slowly.

Daybreak stood up and the barrier went down, he looked harder at Hyrax. Tide shot a burst of water out at Hyrax's tail as the passed the other side, the water turned to ice further increasing the case on his tail. "your attack didn't work?" Life said a bit confused. "it had an effect...just not the effect I wanted." he charged up another attack this time there was more energy building up, Life held his hands in the same position as Shade and he too started building up energy. Kyuubi still a little hesitant on what to do Daybreak ran to his side "Kyuubi!" he shouted. He stopped right next to him "Daybreak?" "Kyuubi, I think there's something wrong. I think Hyrax is planing something big...I don't like where this is going..." he grabbed Kyuubi's wrist "I'm getting the same feeling myself." he looked at Hyrax "I might be wrong, but I feel like I've seen this happen before..." they stood together "be prepared..." "for anything to happen..."

In a flurry of sudden and strong movement, Hyrax manages to break free and in an instant, seizes Desire in his jaws. The grip is incredible and with Hyrax's two pronged teeth, any movement from Desire would cause them to sink in and while Hyrax isn't biting down, the potential strength that could be unleashed might just eviscerate her on the spot. The drool, however, was starting to sting. Rushing forward, Hyrax grinds his tusks into the ground, his horns like a spiny battering ram.

Desire shouted in surprise and pain. Kyuubi and Daybreak's heart skipped a beat, Kyuubi growled, meanwhile, Shade jumped down from his perch in the air, he landed with hardly a sound, he cloaked himself in the black vail again, he continued charging his attack. Kyuubi charged towards Hyrax at full speed head on, he let out a battle cry. Shade mumbled to himself, "that's right. Keep him distracted..." his voice seemed to be a whisper and yet it almost sounded like it came from two places at once, he continued charging his beam.

Hyrax looks at Kyuubi and snarls, lunging with his mouth open wide enough to stuff him in too.

Kyuubi slashed the air a couple times building up momentum, something made him hesitate, "He's not your target." Shade's voice came from Hyrax's mouth, or rather, from the thing inside his mouth. Desire was also covered in the shadow cloak, but it melted away and revealed that Shade had swapped places with Desire. He thrust his arms outward and into Hrax's mouth and the even stronger beam blasted right into Hyrax's throat and the blast also propelled Shade out and away from Hyrax, he rolled backwards in a somersault and landed on his feet "not what you expected?" he says with a hint of a smirk. Kyuubi, instead of attacking Hyrax, used the momentum he built up to throw himself over Hyrax and onto the other side. He blinked "wait...this could work..." he looked at the others and then at Hyrax...

Hyrax seemed to choke when the blast had ended. After a bit, Hyrax snarled before taking a few steps away. "Impressive." Hyrax quickly launched himself forward. Mid-stride, Hyrax unleashed a quick burst of energy as the GrandHyrax slammed Shade with his shield. Regaining his balance, the GrandHyrax did a small hop back to the center of the room and faced down his foes.

Shade fell backwards and tumbled, he staggered back to his feet. "I knew he was planning Something!" Daybreak shouted. Desire Life and Sky all ran to Daybreak's side, tide slid in and the ice turned into water and he too stood next to Daybreak. Kyuubi was on the other side of Hyrax and remained as quiet as he possibly could hoping that GrandHyrax would forget he was there. Shade stepped up with the rest of the group. "well this is...different..." Desire said in surprise "what happens now?" Sky worried, "it doesn't matter, we will still find a way through this." Life's negative energy was toned down and was less noticeable. He began healing Shade who stood up straight, "alright, next phase, here we go..." Tide stretched his arms and then took his casual battle stance. Kyuubi walked very slowly and as quiet as he could to try and get to the group without getting in the way of GrandHyrax.

Energy began to swirl around the lance as the began to slowly flash. The GrandHyrax was much faster and not as large as Hyrax. He rushes at the group with surprising speed.

Sky matches GrandHyrax's speed and creates a blade of wind around his arm, he parried GrandHyrax's strike. Kyuubi took advantage of this to run towards the group as he hugged the wall to stay out of Sky and GrandHrax's way.

The shield flashes faster as the GrandHyrax uses a strange fighting form, using kicks and headbutts with the occasional swing of the lance. Seeing the others doing nothing, Hyrax quickly turns and rushes the group, shield out front.

Kyuubi rushes in just in time to knock him off course, "where you looking?" he said, Life took this opurtunity to grab GrandHyrax's legs with vines, he binds GrandHrax's feet to the ground "not so fast. You need to slow down before you hurt yourself." he smirked, Desire launched a rose vine GrandHyrax's, this vine had roses on it that had the dreamy scent to them "you need to calm down. Relax." the rose vine tightened and the scent got stronger "you don't want this violence do you?"

Hyrax lowers his shield and fires a devastating and continuous laser. Seeing his legs are stuck, Hyrax wheels his arm around, causing the laser to sweep across the room, even reaching behind him.

Everyone dived down to the floor but Life kept the vines in place, he tightened them in fact "not on my watch." he remained on the floor but kept his fist tightly clenched to keep the vines in place. Desire yanked on the vines as she lay on the floor, the rose vine slid up to GrandHrax's neck aria as she pulled back "I said you need to calm down!" She said, the scent increased. Sky remained on the ground as well but he crawled towards GrandHyrax he built up energy. "Stop the laser!" Kyuubi shouted. Tide threw a water whip that coiled around Hyrax's arm, he too started pulling back "all...tied...Up!" he said, the water continued to flow, slowly incasing GrandHyrax's arm. The rose vine started to feel warmer for some reason...

Hyrax, not willing to quit, stops the laser and grips his lance with both hands. The lance plunges into the ground. In a massive explosion of pure Lackluster that sends a massive and devastating shock wave outwards, the ground is completely torn up as the water evaporates and the vines disintegrate. As the light clears, in the GrandHyrax's place was a large orb. Inside, the form of the GrandHyrax distorted and swirled about.

The group was sent flying in all different directions by the shockwave. They all tumbled backwards, and slid across the floor. After a moment they all staggered back onto their feet. They all looked up to see the orb "what the?" Kyuubi looked at the orb, he blinked in confusion. "what...is that?" Daybreak said, he stumbled backwards.

The orb swelled before shattering. The HyraxColossus lands on the floor. Compared to the rest of the room, the giant is... rather small, not even a fourth of the way to the top of the room. Of course, this doesn't stop Hyrax from stomping at the group and wildly swinging his axe. The light from the core shines through the small gaps surrounding his mid-section.

The group dived and dodged around in attempts to avoid GrandHyrax's attacks. "Not good!" Tide slides away from GrandHrax and almost gets stomped on. Kyuubi dodges backwards and rolls out of the way of one of Hyrax's attacks. Kyuubi looks up at Hyrax's mid section and sees the glowing. Daybreak crawls on his back away from GrandHyrax, he almost got hit as well but was quickly pulled away by Desire who used a rose vine to pull him out of the way, "this just keeps getting worse and worse." she said, she caught Daybreak. Sky ran at GrandHyrax, energy forming around his hand, his speed increased as he got closer to GrandHyrax, he leaped into the air with a burst of wind forwards and up to GrandHyrax's midsection.

The HyraxColossus fumbles from the blast but catches Sky in his other hand and uses him like a small weapon, wildly swinging him around to hit his head against his friends. The mid-section looks unharmed. The HyraxColossus chuckles in his elderly, booming voice. "I must commend you all for being as diligent as you are." He stomps hard, causing the floor to ripple like water for a moment.

Everyone fell backwards due to the ripple, shade was knocked backwards by GrandHrax's attack using Sky, Shade fell over but flung himself back onto his feet. "Put him Down!" Life shouted, several vines launched out of the walls and the floor and wrapped around GrandHyrax's hand that was holding Sky, they constricted his arm and the vines pulled against it, the vines pulled harder than they have before, Life put immense strength into pulling his arm, it appeared that he was sweating, and panting as well Kyuubi and Daybreak backed away, "I'm going to try and attack, but if we split up, it might make it harder for him to get a lock on who to target." Kyuubi looked at Daybreak, Daybreak turned to Kyuubi, he nodded "r-right..." the two of them separated, Daybreak told the others as he passed by. Kyuubi twirled his swords around, he straifed to the left keeping a lock on GrandHyrax.

Undeterred by the vines, the HyraxColossus launches waves of energy at the group from his axe. Looking to the vines once more, Hyrax scoops up parts of the vines into the crook of his elbow and hand before pulling back with incredible force.

Life appeared to be straining himself to keep the vines active, he groaned a little when GrandHyrax started pulling back. Sky struggled in an attempt to free himself from his grip. Desire ran around to the back of GrandHyrax, she whipped him in the back using a thorny vine Shade, ran around to GrandHyrax's side and fired small bursts of energy to GrandHrax's head. Tide and Daybreak, nearly hit by the energy wave he sent out were knocked forward by the shock, Tide picked up daybreak for a moment before tossing him over to Life, "Protect him!" he shouted as he tossed him. Daybreak rolled across the ground and came to a stop just before he reached Life, Daybreak pushed himself back onto his feet, he noticed that Life seemed to be getting tired, he stood next to him. Tide leaped back on his feet, he stood in front of GrandHyrax, he shot out frost that built up to solid ice around one of GrandHyrax's feet, though he had a feeling this might not have the exact outcome he might want, so he backed away slightly. Kyuubi turned to the wall, he built up speed and ran directly at it, with all his speed he managed to run up the wall, glanced over at the group and GrandHyrax and then picked up speed. Once he reached a certain hight, he stopped and leaped off the wall directly at GrandHyrax, he aimed for the mid section, he prepared a strike with both blades.

"ENOUGH!" The HyraxColossus sends out a shock wave from his entire body and throws Sky across the room. His torso separates from his legs, revealing his core. The gravity in the room suddenly shifts towards the massive core. Debris flown into it disintegrate on contact.
