Company and Calamity

The group looks to the doors that have just opened. Daybreak smiles nervously the rat that had just grew again. The group all walk to the door and enter...

This room, while not nearly as large as the last room, was certainly more grand. Wonderful glass pictures served as windows. There were curtains that seemed to be made of the literal fabric of the universe. Across the room was a much larger door, featuring the same symbols as before, but featured four new ones. Across the room from the group, there were four figures.

They walked forward but stopped for a moment, they looked around at the grand room and they spotted the four figures. Kyuubi looked at them, his head tilted a little, as he tried to make out what or who they were. Daybreak looked at the symblos and noticed the new ones, which he studied closely. The group looked up and around the room, some looking at the symbols or the figures and others looking at the curtains. "There's something...different about this place..." Daybreak said quietly.

Either the four at the other end didn't notice them, or they didn't care. One, a serpent-like figure, seemed to be brewing tea on a small portable stove. The second was talking. As to who it was talking to, that was unknown. The third, upon closer look, didn't seem to be there at all. It was more like a shadow on the floor. The fourth, smaller than the rest, appeared to be ignoring the others as it sat in silence.

Kyuubi began slowly walking forwards. The group looked at him and then looked where he was headed. They slowly walked behind him. Kyuubi didn't seem to realize he was moving forwards at all, he just kept looking at the strange beings at the other side.

The one brewing tea spoke first. "Glad to see you all made it one piece." It was a girl's voice. Her body was indeed serpentine, but she wore light armor on her torso. Her braided hair was expertly taken care of. Around her waist an attached to a belt were two sheathed daggers. One seemed to be giving Kyuubi a rather hateful vibe as it seemed to wiggle in poor attempts to attack him. She turned her head and glanced at Kyuubi. Her face was blocked by a smiling mask.

Kyuubi stopped "I take it you were expecting us." Kyuubi said, he glanced at the dagger. The group stood behind him. Daybreak peeked around from behind Kyuubi

When the group approached, the other dagger began to wiggle around as well. "Weren't all but Gale expecting you? As I recall, you caught her off guard."

"Yea, I just figured that at this point, everyone was expecting us." Kyuubi shrugged "that's why I assumes that you were as well." he said. He looked at the other dagger now, more confused than before.

The girl looks at her daggers and chuckles. "Don't mind them. They wiggle when their target entities are close." The second creature looks over. It resembles a gargoyle with one volcanic arm and one glacial arm. It's tail ends in a crescent moon while its neck seems to have triangular fragments of light orbit around it. "We are utilized for more... specialized missions. I guess you can say we act as... commandos." This one's voice was more masculine and gruff.

"Speciaized missions huh. So you must be really important then." Sky said "T-target entities? Daybreak stammered "what do you mean by that?"

"The left one is a beast killer and the right one is a wyrm slayer." The girl pats her daggers with a strange affection. "We don't see a lot of action, but what we do is important."

Kyuubi grimaced at the word "wyrm slayer". He looked a bit disgusted actually. Desire looked at Kyuubi a bit confused. Daybreak also looked a bit confused about the names. "makes sense I suppose. Going out into every battle wouldn't make you 'commandos' it would make you 'commanders' " Sky said.

Another voice echoed. "Every element has a commander, but we are different entirely, as we are not of one element." A shadow forms on the wall as the sentence ends. It seems this was the third member in this group of four.

Kyuubi looked at the dagger that started reacting when he stepped over, he still looked a bit discussed, he looked away and tried finding something else to look at and found the shadow. Sky too looked at the shadow with a surprised look. Daybreak retracted a little and shifted behind Life a bit, he seemed a bit scared of the shadow, he glanced at his wrists but stayed looking at the shadow. "not to sound rude..." Shade spoke "you always sound rude." Sky laughed, Shade shot a nasty look at Sky, Shade cleared his throat, "as I was saying..." he continued "not to sound rude, but what exactly are we supposed to be doing right now?" he asked "short, quick and to the point. Classic Shade." Desire joked.

”Can you not have patience? You’ve breezes through the commanders so quickly, the four of us would have you hold off as we chat for a bit.” Emerging from the shadow and into physical form was a kitsune. His fur was a silver tone and his many tails grew crystals. His eyes tinkled like a galaxy and third eye situated on his forehead gleamed with knowledge: his mind’s eye. ”You do not even know our names, and yet this is the second time we’ve seen one another, though you certainly do not recognize me.” The fourth member stirred. He had a large, tube-like hat, ending in a large bobble. He had a long nose and ears, and was wearing long robes and curved shoes, despite his small size. He was clearly alseep, gripping a large boombox that was turned on, but not playing anything.

Kyuubi starred at the newly formed Kitsune that emerged from the shadow. He seemed amazed at their sudden appearance. Kyuubi blinked, the rest of the group looked at Kyuudi Daybreak blinked as well and stepped out from behind Life He looked at Kyuubi and tilted his head, a bit confused. "F-forgive me, my friend..." Kyuubi said, he did a little respectful bow towards the Kitsune "I apologize for my reaction to you, b- but you may be the closest thing I have ever seen to my kind..." He stood up straight and smiled something about him was off, his eyes had changed color to be less of an emerald color and felt more natural, his posture was different and the Wyrm slayer seemed to react less to Kyuubi's presence. Desire looked at the comando with the Boom box but didn't say anything. "M- might I ask your name?" he shifted a little but smiled still.

”He’s asleep, but I suppose we should introduce ourselves.” The naga bows. ”I am Pip and I like to cook on my off time.” The gargoyle stands tall and proud. ”My name is Magnus. You haven’t seen me before, unlike the others.” The kitsune flourishes his tails. ”I am Simon. I guided Balefrost and your group to the false throne room a while back. Our fourth companion is Ivan. He is always asleep.” The gremlin seemed to acknowledge his name by shifting a small, clawed hand onto a button on the boombox. A small click noise was followed by... more silence. Noticing the wyrmslayer calming down, Pip looks up to Kyuubi. ”What did you do? You managed to calm it down.”

"it's nice to meet you all, I would introduce all of us but I get The feeling that you already know." Sky chuckled. "wait, you where the one who brought us in here?" Desire pointed to Simon "well that makes more sense." she laughed a little. Kyuubi turned towards Pip, "huh?" he said, his differeances seemed clearer now he seemed more timid and less serious. "a-are you alright?" Daybreak asked Kyuubi "you seem different..."

Suddenly changing the subject, Pip turns to look at Magnus and Simon. ”Come to think of it, they’ve seen us a few times. They passed by me when I was cooking. Magnus was hosting a party during their first visit. You guided them and Ivan was asleep in the music room they stopped in.” Magnus nods and smiles, remembering his wild party with a fondness. ”They also passed by the historic portaits and saw our creation, which means they would have seen the one of you and Lewis, right Simon?” Simon now looks proud. ”He was one of my finest students.”

"yes...I do remember those." Life said recalling the hystoricall Windows and remembering their stories. "Wait, Lewis was your student?" Syrix said, raising his head up, "I never would have guessed..." Syrix said "what's that supposed to mean?" Kyuubi said glaring at his companion. "it appears we knew you before we actually Truely knew you." Sky chuckled.

”Who do you suppose trained the commanders? After Juju trained Lewis to the extent of his capabilities, Hyrax instructed me to teach Lewis the advanced capabilities of spirit magic.” Simon smiles. ”We even accompany Hyrax on diplomatic missions... And uphold commando missions when diplomacy doesn’t work... More or less.” ”Only if he says though.”

"So you just do what Hyrax tells you." Shade said, he crossed his arms "wow, Sky's right..." Tide looked at Shade and smirked, "you do always sound so rude." he laughed "are you ever positive? C'mon be happy for once." Tide playfully pushed Shade's shoulder "no." Shade mumbled "was that an answer to my question or are you refusing to be happy?" "yes." "Diplomatic missions?" Daybreak inturupted, "what is that?" he stepped forwards nervously, he hesitated before moving and didn't move to far from someone's side, clearly he was nervous.

”Diplomacy. Meeting world leaders. Discussing treaties and tribute. You know... Diplomacy.” Magnus calms down from his memory of his party. ”With our position in the ranks, we need to attend, even though Hyrax really doesn’t need us there. It’s just formal. Seeing new places is nice.”

"travelling to different places constently does sound entertaining..although, I suppose we do something of the same type." Sky smiled and scratched the back of his head. "I haven't traveled much...or...not that I...remember..." Daybreak looked at the ground he suddenly seemed lost in thought "that...I...Remember..." he mumbled, a tear seemed to slide down his cheek "Daybreak?" Desire spoke, Daybreak snapped back to reality, he didn't seem aware of his wet cheek "Wu- oh, sorry..." he smiled nervously at the commandos. Desire looked at Life with worry, and Life looked back with the same. Kyuubi looked nervously at Daybreak.
