Company and Calamity

"They come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Some do not take on such a cute and cuddely appearence though. Be greatful that one was as it was." Juju stops a few paces from Hyrax, who is still asleep. "There he is."

Desire looks at JuJu with a blank expression, one would say she looked a lot like a Hollow. Kyuubi looks at Hyrax and then took a glances at Desire and grabbed her arm, "thank you JuJu." he said and pulled Desire away towards Hyrax,

Juju turns a corner and leaves. Hyrax opens an eye to look at the pair. " 'Bout time. You two are in a heap of trouble, but we'll start with what apparent questions you want to ask."

Desire sighed and turned to look at Hyrax. They stood for a while until Kyuubi spoke up "Hyrax..." he started "...we don't mean to cause trouble...however we have a simple question." he looked at Hyrax "what were those other...Hyrax...doing here. Why did they come here and what did you do with them?" Kyuubi gripped something behind him and the scent rose, very slowly and subtle.

"The other vairations were dropping off the injured one. That one comes from a universe where the Sages keep it in a constant state of pain and agony. No mercy." Hyrax opens all his eyes. "He's being treated for his injuries, but I'll have to put him back eventually. It won be too much longer, but there are some scars he will have forever." The scars along Hyrax's own body became very noticeable for a moment before they blended back into his hide. There were many kinds thought most seem to be made by the same source. Hyrax shifted.

"And it is normal for you to jump between universes?" Desire tilted her head "have you been mistaken as the Hyrax of that world?" She asks, she makes a quick glance at his scars.

"Though some Hyraxes may appear similar, we each have very distinct features that distinguish ourselves from one another." Hyrax's tail swings to the other side as Hyrax prepares to stand. "Universe jumping is normal behavior. Dimension hopping is difficult and rarely utilized."

"But why?" Desire asks "I mean why do the sages torture you in that universe? Did you do something terrible?" Kyuubi looks at Desire and then turns to Hyrax "That does make me currious." Kyuubi shifts as he thinks "if each universe has an alternate time line does your intervening with the other dimensions alter what happens in that dimension?" Kyuubi looks worried, "why do you do it?"

"That dimension is one where I couldn't escape from the Sages after our original confrontation. The Sages grew in numbers and each were taught that the Hyrax from there was to be punished forever. Essentially, the mentalities are swapped. The Katie from that dimension is cruel and merciless, for example." Hyrax stands fully, staring down at the others. "They are not too good at keeping an eye on Hyrax though. The other variations take it and heal it. Then, we return it back. We tried to keep it away forever, but the imbalance created as a result of Hyrax's absence, and the presence of Katie would have allowed her to achieve the same world-hopping capabilities that Hyraxes have."

"But why was it so sudden? They just, appeared randomly. At my home town. I'm almost sure that someone would have seen something." Kyuubi shifted slightly and Desire grabbed his shoulder. Kyuubi calmed himself and Desire's hand dropped off his shoulder.

"They appear where ever I am. It is no different when they appeared at your home than it would be if they had appeared on Mt. Ebott." Hyrax seems groggy. He sways as time passes and slowly opens and closes his eyes. Hyrax begins to mutter something to himself before nearly passing out.

"are you alright? You look...warn out." Desire asks and tilts her head.

"I'm... Fine." Hyrax's voice wavers and he slumps to his knees. Realizing what's happening, Hyrax rises shakily and turns towards the mountains. "I must go... Feel free to explore the city... I will rejoin the group later... If you want to leave this realm untill I am done... Now would be the time to do so..." Hyrax takes a few step toward the mountains. "Ask Life to relay the info I told him before this all happened to Sky... The stuff about Daybreak... It was meant for his ears, not Life..." Hyrax staggers forward.

"Where are you going?" Kyuubi asks walking towards Hyrax "what happened to you?" Desire looks worried.

"I don't live... In the city..." Hyrax trudges towards the mountains a little faster. "Don't follow..."

Kyuubi stops but looks at Hyrax with a suspicious look, "alright then..." he turns back and walks past Desire "knowing what kind of person Hyrax is I say we don't follow." Desire watches Hyrax trudge away and backs up slowly, the scent fades.

It takes a long while, but Hyrax continues down the path and disappears from sight. A small "Yip" was heard behind the pair. Behind them sat the fox Dusk was trying to catch. Apparently it evaded capture.

Kyuubi and Desire looked at each other and at the Fox, Kyuubi got down on one knee and looked at it with a small smile. Desire looked at it and smiled as well "I wonder why they were chasing you..." he asked.

The fox doesn't give a cognitive response, but runs around the pair and paws at the ground. The prints seem to show a strange picture, but two figures clearly depict Kyuubi and Desire. The fox growls slightly and treads on the other figures. Perhaps it needs the others depicted.

"Desire, get the others." Kyuubi says to Desire, she looks at the Fox and back at Kyuubi and nods. Desire leaves to get the rest of the group. Sky sits in the tent nearly falling asleep and perks up all of the sudden "Shade, sh- wake up Shade" he shakes Shade and stands up, it's almost as if he had got the message before Desire even came "Desire needs us for something". Life had caught the Hollow and looked around, he was in the same place where Desire and Kyuubi where before they where directed to Hyrax, "when did we get here...better yet where are we?" Life's ear twitxhes and he looks around again.

The fox runs around Kyuubi eagerly. It glances at the moutain every so often before sniffing at Kyuubi.

Kyuubi glances at the mountain every now and then to see what it was looking at, "why would they be trying to catch you?" Kyuubi asked quietly to himself.

The fox, now seemingly impatient, runs in circles before biting down on Kyuubi's sleeve in a failed attempt to pull him along the path leading to the mountains.

"You want me to go with you to the mountains?" Kyuubi asked. Desire comes back "they are on their way here. They should be here soon." Sky and Shade stood up and left the tent "were needed elswhere." Sky said and the two of them left the tent. Life turns around and leaves towards where Desire and Kyuubi are.

The fox yips at Life excitedly. It paws at the ground and sniffs at them in a silimar manner it gave Kyuubi.
